The Road Not Taken

Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken" has always been one of my favorite poems. I thought I'd share and see what you think:

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

it makes u think of the different possibilities, and how significant the road not taken is..
its amazing!

thats always been one of my favourites, and something i always try to live by.
sometimes it leads you down dark alleyways and you wind up lost and confused,... but still you walk away with one hell of a story to tell :D

To me the beauty of this poem is in its being realistic; great opportunity only come once in a life time, at times disguised, yet one wrong move and we have lost it forever.

your poem reminded me of a movie I very much like .. "the village" .. don't you think that Ivy could be singing it while walking into the woods ...??
